A Little Taste of Christmas...

One of the houses where i'm from decorates for christmas; and i mean really decorates. They open up their whole garden for people to walk around and see hundreds of different christmas statues all arranged into loving little scenes. Anyway these are just a few of the snap-shots i took on my visit.

And what's best? All of the proceeds go to this amazing charity.

Cute inflatable reindeers to get you in the christmas spirit!

Just one of the many little 'scenes' shown around the garden; i love how the little santa's line the path to the real santa in the gazebo.

Send your letter to santa (hopefully you have already or santa won't reply for another year)

Ghost-like snowmen make my christmas!

And the night ended with santa and the snowmen leaving for next year...

The Lighthouse

Shot at the Mull of Galloway lighthouse again in Scotland; just a few snaps of our trip up the tower; during out enthusiastic steps which turned to the "How many more my feet are killing me" ranting. Never the less had a great day and we did almost guess the stairs correctly. Almost.

Not sure if i'm in love with this picture or not i think i prefer the gazing outside compostition but never the less couldn't resist showing off the view; totally worth the step count.

Once we'd finished up our exploring we went down the the cafe and had some cake, well i had cake Em probably had something more sophisticated and cheif-like but personally a good old slab of chocolate fudge makes me happy. As a matter of fact i could do with some of that cake right now...
The cafe's in the picture see if you can spot it.

Hidden Treasures...

I've decided to develop more of my photographs  from my extensive collection of archives. These are just a couple i shot at Castle Kennedy in Scotland last summer; hopefully you'll like how i choose to develop both of them.

I'm not sure i love the portrait as much as the landscape shot, what do you guys think?

Both shot with Nikon D5000 and Nikon 18-55mm lens.

Summer sunshine...

On a little walk a few months ago just had to take some pictures, so i thought i'd take this oppetunity to develope them properly.

Spot the difference between the two. The actual colour of the flowers is on the right; but i liked the colour i created as well...

Shot with my Nikon D5000.

The beauty of the simple...

All shot with my Nikon D5000.

More from the archives

These were all quickly edited; all from my trip to Ghana last year.

This shot was taken outside the school; the boy was watching a football match going on between some of the other students so i snapped this quick shot before he joined in. I decided to develope this in black and white to provide more deapth and feeling to the image; his facial expression really wouldn't have matched a colourful photograph.

This is a poor quality shot but i took it from inside a moving bus. I'd seen so many of these mud hut houses i had to take a picture of one for memories sake.

This one i decided to develope in colour; this particluar experiance (We learnt to play the instruments as well as having various dance lessons) was lively and colourful in it'sself; i really felt that this picture had to reflect that.

All shot with my compact Samsung S1065.

Just a child at heart.

A few more photographs from my archives that i never bothered to edit at the time. These where shot on a day out last summer.

I've got a lot of not to fond memories of me and this dragon; it talks so when i was a toddler i screamed at it for scaring me. I know silly story but when i saw this guy again i had to take a picture for sentimental sake.

Just a couple of the little houses you can play in at the park; yes i did run in and "play" once i'd snapped this shot.

Sorry about the lighting in this one. I wanted the focus to be on the trowel and on the multi-coloured brick-work. I love the princess castle but i never did understand why there was a giant turnip outside though... Maybe some sort of cinderella reference??

Shot with my compact Samsung S1065.

Wilted Love

Another before and after editing set; hoprfully you guys like the edited version better...

As usual the "before" photograph is on the left.

Shot with my Nikon D5000 and Nikon 18-55mm lens.

Summertime fades...

Since Winter is upon us i thought i'd post a few photographs to remind us all of the good old days - before we start the snowball fights and snow angels.

I just had to let this bumble-bee make an appearence since the other had three...

The summer-time colours in this make it seem almost abstract; soon enough everything will be tinted and enhanced with blues and greys...

For these i used my Nikon D5000 and Tameron 70-300mm lens

Little bits of summer...

This curious little bee, i just had to take a few shots...

Here's some different cropping options of the picture.

I did this one rather tight to show the detail of both the subject and the flower.

The negative space I've left in this photograph draws your eye to the subject. This is my favourite cropped version i just love the detail and the background.

Shot with my Nikon D5000 and my Tameron 70-300mm lens.

Who doesn't love sand beneath your toes?

Okay so i've decided to show you the origional and then my edited version. Hopefully you'll like the difference.

Shot with my Nikon D5000; not sure which lense i used.

London Calling

More photo's from my archives.

Just a couple of classic snap-shots from my trip to London last year. No judgement on the editing please i just posted my old edited shots...

I dated this one just to add a little something to the picture. White worked better than black on the grey backdrop.

Both Photographs were shot on my Samsung compact S1065; and edited in Adobe Photoshop.

Amazing Memories

Last year i spent a few weeks voulenteering in Ghana. Here's just a few pics i decided to resurrect and re-edit.

They're energy still amazes me; i couldn't run anywhere in that heat. But i guess their winter is so much better than our English summers...

They tried to teach me but needless to say their skills are superior by far!

This little guy's smile is just infectious. His happiness and all-round adorableness (is that even a word?) just made for a must-take photo.

Made this one a little too grainy but i wanted you guys to see the imperfections behind her face, and no i didn't position her.

Photo's shot with my simple compact camera. Samsung S1065 - inexpensive and perfect for what i needed.
